CartiVue Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 30, 2026
CartiVue is provided by [Developer Legal Name] (“CartiVue,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, used, disclosed, and protected when you use the CartiVue iOS application and related support services.
- Privacy at a Glance
CartiVue does not require you to create an account.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We do not use your information for cross-app or cross-website tracking.
Location, camera, and photo access are requested only when needed for a feature you choose to use.
Photos and location metadata created with the GPS Camera feature remain on your device unless you choose to share them.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
If CartiVue later introduces analytics, advertising, cloud storage, user accounts, or other data-collecting services, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
- Information CartiVue May Access or Process
Location Information
With your permission, CartiVue may access your approximate or precise location to show your position on a map, provide nearby places, preview routes and traffic conditions, calculate distance or direction, add location information to a GPS photo, and provide local time or other location-related features.
Location permission is optional. You can continue using features that do not require location access. CartiVue does not store a history of your precise location on its servers. Location requests may be transmitted to the map, traffic, geocoding, or content provider needed to return the requested result.
Camera and Photos
With your permission, CartiVue may access your camera so you can capture GPS photos and your photo library so you can save, select, or share images.
Photos remain on your device unless you deliberately share them through an iOS sharing feature or another clearly identified service. We do not use your photos for advertising, facial recognition, or biometric identification.
Compass and Motion Information
CartiVue may use compass, heading, orientation, or related device sensor information to provide direction and calibration features. This information is processed only for the requested feature and is not used to identify you.
Search and Map Requests
When you search for a city, address, landmark, or route, the search term and related map request may be sent to the relevant search, map, geocoding, traffic, imagery, or live-view provider. Depending on the provider, a request may also include your approximate location, language, device network address, or technical request information.
Diagnostics
If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers through Apple, we may receive aggregated crash reports, performance information, device model, operating system version, and similar technical data. We use this information only to maintain security, diagnose errors, and improve reliability.
Support Communications
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and diagnostic details. We use this information only to respond to your request and provide support.
Purchases
If CartiVue offers subscriptions or in-app purchases, payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment-card details. We may receive transaction status, product information, country or region, and transaction identifiers needed to verify access and provide support.
- How We Use Information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
Provide the feature you requested.
Display maps, places, routes, traffic, live views, and landmark content.
Save or share content at your direction.
Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve CartiVue.
Respond to support requests.
Verify purchases and manage subscriptions, if offered.
Prevent fraud or misuse.
Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not use precise location, photos, or camera content for targeted advertising.
- Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information with your consent, to provide a service or feature you request, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing CartiVue where those interests do not override your rights, or to comply with legal obligations.
You may withdraw permission at any time through iOS Settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before permission was withdrawn.
- How Information May Be Shared
Service Providers
Information necessary to complete a request may be sent to providers of maps, geocoding, traffic, imagery, public live feeds, crash reporting, hosting, support, or purchase verification. These providers may process data under their own privacy policies.
Apple
Apple may process App Store purchases, subscriptions, app distribution, diagnostics, and permission controls according to Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to a valid government request, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect our rights and property.
Business Transfers
If the business responsible for CartiVue is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Device Permissions and Your Choices
You control access to sensitive device data. On iOS, you can review or revoke permissions through Settings, Privacy and Security, or Settings, CartiVue.
Depending on your device and iOS version, you may disable location access, choose approximate instead of precise location, disable camera or photo access, limit selected-photo access, stop sharing diagnostics with developers, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account.
Some features may not work without the permission they require, but permission can be changed at any time.
- Third-Party Services
CartiVue may depend on third-party services to provide maps, search, geocoding, street-level imagery, traffic information, public live views, or other content.
Production services:
[Map and geocoding provider]
[Traffic and route provider]
[Street imagery or live-view provider]
[Analytics or crash-reporting provider, if any]
Third-party websites, map content, and live feeds are governed by the privacy policies of their respective providers. CartiVue is not responsible for the privacy practices of unaffiliated third parties.
- Data Retention and Deletion
CartiVue does not retain precise location or camera content on its servers.
Photos and saved places stored locally remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app.
Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain records, and comply with law.
Diagnostic information is retained only as long as necessary for security and reliability.
Purchase records may be retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, support, and legal compliance.
Third-party providers may retain request information according to their own policies.
To request access to or deletion of information held by us, contact [Privacy Contact Email]. If information exists only on your device, you can delete it in the app or by deleting the app. We may retain limited information when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- International Data Transfers
CartiVue and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Privacy protections and government-access rules in another country may differ from those in your country.
- Children’s Privacy
CartiVue is a general-audience application and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age at which parental consent is required in their jurisdiction.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [Privacy Contact Email] so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
- Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, request a portable copy of eligible information, and appeal or complain to a data-protection authority.
We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights. To submit a request, contact [Privacy Contact Email]. We may need to verify your request before responding.
Under the current design, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when CartiVue’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new Last Updated date and provide additional notice where required.
